Today I have released new repaint for the Evektor Eurostar from Oskari Syynimaa and Hans Palsson. Its OK-JUR11 based at LKLT(scenery) airport in Prague. Its the one Im flying i real. Monday, December 17, 2007 Evektor Eurostar for FS2004/FSX Review
First test flights have been flown. And I would like to share my impressions from flying with this baby.
The archive is in a standart ZIP format. Both instruction how to instal the plane to FS2004 and/or FSX is included. As a default you have a two repaints to choose from, but we can expect a lot of repaints as soon as the paintkit will be released I think.
The whole airplane is well modeled. Including a custom 2d panel, superb VC (fully clickable), custom sounds and pretty accurate flight dynamic. As the airplane is spreaded all around the world a lot of you will surely appreciate a choice between ft/min and IAS instruments and M/sec and KPH instruments.
2D panel 2D panel comes in two different versions. One includes gyro compas and the other magnetic compas. Both versions also includes a so called landing panel with a better out view. I didnt have the chance to fly it in the FSX but unfortunately in FS9 the 2D panels are a bit FPS unfriendly. But the VC makes its job. Its very FPS friendly.
Virtual Cockpit Great job has been done here as I noticed above. The VC is great for flying VFR and with no FPS impact. Pretty detailed instruments with good refresh rate gives you a real feeling you are in a real plane.
3D model The 3D model is nice and simple. With no FPS impact you can enjoy your sightseeing flights all around the country. Custom strobe effect on the tail is like real. On the other side the position lights seems not to fit exactly in the FS9. But as not so many Eurostars have them installed you can disable them in Aircraft.cfg and let just the strobe in action (I did so;).
The 3D mode has an opening canopy with nice reflection effects and sounds.There is just one thing on the 3d model Im missing. Its a landing gear springing system. Maybe there will be and update on it.

Ability to chhose from ft/min and ASI(KTS) instruments and M/sec and KPH instruments

What I dont like on EV-97
2D panel are FPS intensive in FS9
The VHF Radio is a bit unusual
Landing gear doesnt spring
Still unable to start the engine without pressing Ctrl+E (my fault probably;)
Lights can be turn on just by pressing the "L" key
TIP: Some users complained that the plane keeps turning to left. If your plane keeps turning to the left just add one more pax on the right seat ;)

Its a big day today. The guys from SDT (Swedish Design Team) have released so awaited Eurostar for both FS versions FS9/FSX. I have to say big Thank you for this magnificent small birdl. I hope you simmers enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks once more for a beautiful Christmas present.
